About

Holberton School delivers an intensive 9-month course that prepares aspiring software engineers for a career in tech. Students learn how to walk, talk and code like software engineers by tackling weekly projects alongside their cohort members.

Global History

Holberton was initially founded in Silicon Valley in 2016. It has since expanded to 30+ campuses in North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Australia.

Why Holberton in Australia?

In January 2022, we launched Holberton School in Australia to provide aspiring software engineers with an alternative path to a career in tech, catering mainly to career-switchers and re-skillers who are looking to make a career change.

Since our launch, we have garnered the support of Canva, REA Group, Reece Group, PEXA, Sportsbet, RACV, the ADF & more.

90% of our job-searching graduates are employed in the technology industry, at an average entry-level salary of $80K AUD.

Sprint 1: Introduction to Software Engineering

Learn the basics of Linux/Unix shell, Git, and GitHub, along with the fundamentals of the C programming language. Dive into variables, data structures, loops, conditionals, and libraries. By the end of this sprint, you'll be proficient in C programming, command-line utilities, and have a solid understanding of software engineering principles.

Sprint 3: Full-stack development & portfolio project

Sprint 3 at Holberton School Australia is where you transition from fundamental programming skills to advanced full-stack development. This phase is designed to bridge the gap between the back-end and front-end, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of modern web application development. The sprint culminates with a group portfolio project, in which you will culminate all of the skills that you have developed over the last 9-months.
